This section aims to keep you informed about what is happening at Mind at the moment. This page will be updated monthly so visit regularly to keep up-to-date with current Mind events.

SOCIAL WORK UNIT
Mind in Waltham Forest has developed a unit for social work students looking for placements starting in September 2009. We offer a variety of placements with our partner agencies, including individual and group support, running mental health groups and assisting with welfare benefits. We have sent information to placement officers in local universities. You can also contact us directly for more information.

We provide practice teaching services to other agencies such as: supervision, direct observation, report writing, reading and commenting on case studies, attending placement visits and attending meetings with students and tutors.

We are also able to provide the services of visiting tutor, visiting lecturer, reading and marking portfolios and second opinions.

SUNDAY LUNCH CLUB
The next four week series begins on Sunday 28 March. The Centre opens at 11:30am and lunch will be served at 1:15pm. You can have a two course hot meal for £3.50. Contact the office to join the Membership list.

HAWKWELL COURT HEALTHY EATING DROP IN
The drop-in sessions with a cooked meal will start again on Thursday 25 June. You can have tea or coffee with friends or stay for a cooked lunch. The calendar of sessions for 2009 is below.

COUNSELLING ON-LINE
Instead of contacting us by phone it is now very easy to apply for counselling at Mind in Waltham Forest. Just click on the link to complete the application form on-line.We currently see around 400 clients per year and have 20 counsellors working throughout the week. To ensure your waiting time is kept to a minimum please try and be as flexible as possible when saying what days and times you will be available for counselling.
